Project on the go

I am planning to set up a new project that is dedicated to organically growing medicinal and culinary tropical herbs and vegetables. The project is meant to be one a model farm of small scale, bio-intensive farming.

For this purpose, I am looking for:

* seed sources of organically grown Asian and South American veggie, fruit and herb seeds

* people who would like to be involved with the project or support it in any way. (My plan is to make a community garden where people from the area can pick up fresh produce, attend work-shops, etc.)

* naturopaths, alternative healers, etc. who are interested in ordering fresh, dried or processed herbs. If you need any particular tropical herb, we can grow it for you!

* support regarding finding suitable land in the Mayaguez area or at least the west coast of Puerto Rico; although I am growing minor quantities of over 60 herb and vegetable species at my own place, I don’t have the required space for a larger scale operation.

New Book in Progress

As some of you already know, I am currently writing a book about new tropical food crops (fruits, vegetables, herbs) for Puerto Rico. The book includes chapters about organic farming, alternative agriculture, etc. The writing is coming along well and I hope to be able to have the book published early next year.
